The Advanced Technological Course Lectured by the International High-level Experts, Hosted by SMU

From October 21 to 26, 2013, the advanced technological course on Technology, Challenges and Application of Power Semiconductor Devices lectured by the international high-level experts was held at Shanghai Maritime University. On October 21, it was successfully open at the Conference Hall 124 of Logistics Engineering College.

At the opening ceremony, Jin Yongxin, Vice President of SMU, gave the welcoming speech and Professor Xu Dehong from Zhejiang University, made a keynote speech. The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Tang Tianhao.

Doctor Leo Lorenz, both the academician of German Academy of Science and internationally well-known electrical and electronic expert. Doctor Leo Lorenz is employed by the State Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs and he once gave the relevant courses at the prestigious universities, institutions as well as international conferences. Professor Xu Dehong from Zhejiang University, Doctor J.Charpentier from France Navy Academy and other well-known scholars were invited as well to give lectures.

The course is designed to introduce the technology and its future development of latest power semiconductor devices, with an emphasis on analysing the high frequency switching devices, parameter characteristics and choice, protection and application of the devices. The courses and the exchanges enable the students to broaden their global perspectives and deeply understand the power devices as well as their application in each field.
